DVSAC Services

DVSAC offers a wide range of services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Perhaps most important is the 24 hour crisis line which is available 365 days a year to victims in crisis, or their friends and family members.  The crisis line gives access to crisis intervention services, no matter what the hour is.  Depending on an assessment of the individual situation, counseling, emergency shelter, food, transportation, emergency protective orders, and medical and law enforcement accompaniment are all immediately available to those in crisis.

During office hours - Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., walk-in and scheduled services are available.  These include crisis counseling, scheduled individual counseling, support groups, and assistance with obtaining temporary restraining orders.  Counselors are also available to accompany and advocate for victims in court and at the emergency room.  DVSAC also offers children's programs most days, as well as support and education groups for teens, both in the DVSAC office and at area high schools.

In the evenings and on Saturdays, DVSAC offers fee-based anger management classes through its PATH (Positive Alternatives to Hurting) program.  These include court-mandated classes for batterers, and voluntary classes.  Both men's and women's groups are available.
