Funding
DVSAC is partly funded by federal and state grants through the California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SSHS), the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing (HPRP) and others. Other funds come from the county through Marriage License fees, Community Service Block Grants, and a CalWORKS grant, and from foundations such as the Welz Children’s Foundation, the Blue Shield of California Foundation and the Sierra Health Foundation.
The preparation of this website was financially assisted through grant awards from the California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Donors
DVSAC’s shelter has recently been chosen to receive $20,000 grant from The Mary Kay Foundation as part of the organization’s annual $3 million national domestic violence grant program. DVSAC is one of 150 domestic violence organizations participating in the program. The grant will be used for programs to help battered women and their children.
Thank you to The Mary Kay Foundation for helping us help families in Nevada County.
Individual and corporate donors are also very important to DVSAC. The Nevada County United Way is an active supporter as well as other foundations. Many individuals in the community support us with their time, cash and in-kind donations.
The Friends of DVSAC page has more information on how you can help us in our mission.
