We believe healthy families and relationships are the building blocks of an empowered community.

For Parents

If you are worried about the dangers your teen might be faced with, you have reason for concern. National statistics show that violence against our teens – often within a dating relationship – is shockingly high. And statistics from Nevada County, unfortunately, are just as grim.

It is not only girls that suffer from violence; teenage boys are also victims of dating abuse. Both girls and boys experience the loss of self-esteem and emotional damage that is the result of abuse, even if there is no physical damage. And both girls and boys, if they are the controlling abusive partners, suffer from the lack of developing those skills needed for conflict resolution and healthy communication.
